Apria Healthcare LLC (“Apria”) is one of the nation’s largest home healthcare providers with 275 branches and over 2 million patients. On September 1, 2021, Apria received notice that a hacker had gained access to its systems and data. The data breach occurred from April 5, 2019 to May 7, 2019 and again from August 27, 2021 to October 10, 2021. Apria notified its patients of the breach in a letter sent on May 22, 2023. Apria claims that it is not aware of the misuse of personal information related to this incident but is unable to confirm which of its patients’ files were actually accessed.
