Girard Sharp joins the legal team representing 214 former NFL players in connection with settlement proceedings in the National Football League Players Concussion Injury litigation. With co-counsel Philip Thomas and John Giddens of Jackson, Mississippi, Girard Sharp represents former players who will be required to evaluate the terms of a proposed settlement announced in January 6, 2014. To ensure that the former players participate fully in all stages of the settlement approval process, Girard Sharp seeks to establish an orderly process to request information about the settlement, communicate amongst themselves before conveying class members’ concerns to Proposed Class Counsel and the Court, and ultimately to present their views to the Court in an organized fashion. The NFL Players Concussion Injury litigation arose from brain injuries professional football players suffered while members of the National Football League.
