Daily Journal Highlights Adam Polk’s Leadership Appointment in Blue Shield Privacy Litigation

The Daily Journal highlighted partner Adam Polk’s appointment as co-lead counsel in the consolidated Blue Shield of California Privacy Litigation. The piece detailed the Court’s decision to name Polk and co-lead counsel Amber Schubert to oversee the complex litigation encompassing 19 putative data privacy class actions. 

The consolidated matter centers on allegations that Blue Shield of California improperly shared members’ sensitive health data with Google via website tracking technologies for targeted advertising purposes. In response to Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers’ appointment, Polk noted, “We are pleased with the court’s decision and look forward to prosecuting our clients’ claims in this important digital privacy case.” 

Following a thorough hearing process, U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers selected the leadership team from among five competing motions, emphasizing the Court’s evaluation of the counsel’s capacity and expertise.
