Daniel Girard will join the faculty of a Federal Judicial Center National Workshop for District Judges on July 25-26, 2016 in San Diego, California. Daniel Girard has been recognized by his peers and the federal judiciary as an expert on class action and complex litigation. Mr. Girard served on the United States Judicial Conferences Advisory Committee on Civil Rules from 2004-2010, and remains an active contributor to the Rule-making process. He was appointed by Chief Justice John G. Roberts to a three-year term on the Standing Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure beginning on October 1, 2015. Last September, Mr. Girard joined other seasoned attorneys, academics, and judges in Dallas, Texas to a Civil Rules Committee mini-conference on proposed amendments to Rule 23, governing class actions. Mr. Girard has been included among The Best Lawyers in America for five consecutive years since 2012, and was named 2013 “Lawyer of the Year” in San Francisco for Mass Tort Litigation and Class Action for Plaintiffs. He has been honored as a Northern California Super Lawyer (2007-2016), Top 100 in Northern California, and earned an AV-Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, recognizing him in the highest class for professional ethics and legal skills.
