Daniel Girard Appointed as Adviser to the American Law Institute’s Restatement of the Law Third, Torts: Remedies

Daniel Girard has been appointed to serve as an Adviser to the American Law Institute’s Restatement of the Law Third, Torts: Remedies.The Restatement will address tort damages, injunctions against torts, and other remedies. Advisers work closely with the Reporters to help ensure the success of ALI projects.

The American Law Institute is the leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and otherwise improve the law, publishing Restatements of the Law, Model Codes, and Principles of Law that are enormously influential in the courts and legislatures, as well as in legal scholarship and education.

Mr. Girard is also a member of the U.S. Judicial Conference Standing Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure. He served on the Advisory Committee on Civil Rules from 2004 to 2010 and on the Advisory Board of the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System from 2007 to 2016. He was elected to the ALI Council in 2019.
