Dena Sharp Selected as Ninth Circuit Lawyer Representative

Girard Sharp is pleased to announce that firm partner Dena Sharp has been selected as one of six new Lawyer Representatives to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Council. Lawyer Representatives are responsible for fostering open communications between judges and attorneys and providing support and advice in the functioning of the courts.

The Judicial Council of the Ninth Circuit is the governing body for the federal courts in nine western states and two Pacific Island jurisdictions. Eighteen Lawyer Representatives serve staggered three-year terms. They attend the annual Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference, which is also attended by many federal judges, magistrate judges, bankruptcy judges, and clerks of court within the Ninth Circuit, along with Lawyer Representatives from all the other states and territories within the Ninth Circuit.

Dena is a member of the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association and was elected to the American Law Institute in 2018. She has previously spoken at such events as the Impact Fund Class Action Conference and the Judicial Training Symposium for Federal Judges.
