He also highlighted the challenges posed by the patchwork of state privacy laws, emphasizing the need for legal counsel in navigating inconsistent requirements across jurisdictions. “Even if you had a federal system, I think states would want to tailor their privacy rights on behalf of their citizens,” Quackenbush said.
