23andMe Data Breach: 7 Million Customer Records Compromised

23andMe is a genetic testing company that has sold more than 12 million genetic tests since 2006. In early October 2023, 23andMe learned that hackers had gained access to the personal and genetic information of nearly 7 million of its customers and posted the data for sale on the dark web. The company has announced that it will begin notifying affected customers once it has more information from its internal investigation.
