A complaint filed by the Texas Attorney General asserts the company sold information revealing the “driving behavior of over 45 million Americans.” The data was reportedly gathered from users who had consented to the sharing of their geolocation through applications such as: Sirius XM, GasBuddy, Life360, MyRadar, AAA, or Miles.

On January 17, 2025, Crain’s Chicago Business reported that Allstate was allegedly collecting and selling driving information, without the vehicle owner’s consent. As a result, insurance companies are underwriting insurance coverage decisions and profiting from these sales.
