Change Healthcare Data Breach Affects Providers Nationwide
Change Healthcare is a provider of revenue and payment cycle management in the US healthcare system and processes over 14 billion transactions annually. On February 21, 2024, Change Healthcare suffered a cyberattack and took many of its services offline in response.
Service issues reportedly include: substantial billing and cash flow disruptions, limited electronic remittance advice from health plans, rejections of prior authorization submissions, prescription delays and practices being unable to perform patient eligibility checks. The service outage is reportedly affecting healthcare providers across the country.
