Dr. Blaine McGraw Sexual Assault Victims Come Forward

Dozens of women have come forward with reports that former Fort Hood doctor Dr. Blaine McGraw recorded their gynecological exams, touched them inappropriately, and performed unnecessary procedures. According to reports, Dr. McGraw may have taken photos and videos during exams by placing his phone in his breast pocket or by pretending to take notes. A lawsuit filed on behalf of sixteen victims alleges the army was aware of Dr. McGraw’s abuse but allowed him to continue practicing.

Our Commitment to Excellence

Girard Sharp has earned national Tier 1 rankings for Mass Tort and Class Action Litigation and has been named to the U.S. News – Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” list each year over the past decade. Read about some of our results. We have substantial experience in lawsuits concerning sensitive issues, including sexual misconduct, and in guiding affected individuals through the litigation process with discretion. We served as co-lead counsel in a class action against the University of Southern California and campus gynecologist Dr. George Tyndall on behalf of women who were sexually abused by Tyndall during his long tenure at USC. The case generated $215 million in recoveries for survivors and required USC to adopt and implement procedures for identification, prevention and reporting of sexual and racial misconduct. Girard Sharp lawyers also filed a class action lawsuit against UCLA on behalf of women treated by UCLA gynecologist Dr. James Heaps. Heaps was charged with sexual battery and exploitation of patients while working as a staff gynecologist at UCLA—a position he held for almost thirty years. The UC Regents agreed to resolve the claims for $73 million and injunctive relief measures.
