Hatteras Investors File Lawsuit After Stock Drops 99%
Hatteras is an investment management company that had $1.5 billion in assets under management in 2014. On April 17, 2024, a lawsuit was filed in Delaware’s Court of Chancery, alleging that Hatteras “did not conduct proper due diligence prior to approving the transaction with Beneficient that resulted in the exchange of the investors’ holdings in the Hatteras Funds for Beneficient shares.” In 2023 Beneficient merged with Avalon Acquisition Inc and Hatteras preferred shares were converted to Beneficient Class A common stock, which subsequently lost 99% of their value.
