Prosper Funding Data Breach Exposes 17.6 Million Customers

Prosper Funding LLC (Prosper), a peer-to-peer lending platform, recently detected unauthorized activity on its systems. Prosper’s investigation revealed unauthorized queries were performed on its databases of customer information and applicant data. Evidence indicates that confidential, proprietary, and personal information, including social security numbers, may have been compromised. The company began notifying affected individuals on September 17, 2025.
